This is week 14 of physical training for our fitness platoon. Everyone is improving at a good rate. Tom has had the most improvement and has lost 30 lbs so far. Those shipping to boot camp in the next month are physically ready for the challenge.
Most in our group are Marines, have served in the Marines, or are going to serve in the Marines. That said, anyone can show up who wants to get in shape. It's free and you have the opportunity to meet some of the young men and women in the Shenandoah Valley who are answering the call to serve. We meet at the Marine recruiting office in Harrisonburg, Virginia Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 0700.
For those in the Quantico area, there is a group of Marines running a Cross Fit group. Their website, by the way, is the inspiration for the format of this post and future ones like it. I fully admit I'm following their lead.
