Fitness Platoon’s Junto – Oct 31, 2008

H_JuntoOct31

Today was the first official meeting for the group. Everyone has to read all the chapters (16 in all) but we are going to divide the effort to develop study resources by chapter. We are going to create notes on 3 by 5 note cards. On the outside of the card it will have a question and the flip side, the answer. Each of the cards are numbered. The point is to use the cards in such a way that one studies only the parts that aren't being retained. I'm working on the resources for chapter 4.

Here is an example of one of the cards:

Question for card 4-24: What was the Glorious Revolution?

Answer: November 1688: The Glorious Revolution was a bloodless coup in England. James II was replaced by James's protestant daughter, Mary and her husband, William of Orange, the Stadtholder of the Netherlands.

So far I've got 35 cards for the one chapter. The cards will be kept at the recruiter's office so that they are accessible to everyone. There will be opportunities to get brief study sessions before and after PT throughout the week as well as during our Friday meetings.
