Malcolm Gladwell and the 10,000-Hours Principle

Malcolm Gladwell is touting the 10,000 hours (or 10 years) principle that I’m so fond of. I saw him in an interview on CNN talking about it and I thought, “That’s what I’ve been saying for a years now.” I haven’t read his book yet, but I’m very interested in how he perceives the implications.

I’ve read his first two books, so I don’t mind recommending his latest book sight unseen: link

Whether you agree with Gladwell or not (and I never agree with him completely), his books are always thought provoking, which is a good enough reason to read anything.

Here are a few posts of mine where I talk about the 10,000-hours principle. It’s one of the most important things to understand about learning so these are worth reading if you haven't already:

As this is a topic near and dear to my heart, I'll write a review of Gladwell's book when I'm done reading it.
