We set the fuse on a soreness time-bomb this morning and as I write this it's staring to go off. Mike had an exam at JMU early in the morning so I agreed to come out and show him the upper-body workout before his Christmas break from college. When Cory and Taylor found out I was doing the workout twice, they decided to share in fun. We went through the deck twice, the first time in 1 hour and 2 minutes and the second time in 1 hour and 5 minutes.
We added the six sets of push-ups at the end to hit 1000 total push-ups. We discussed it and came to the conclusion that the best time to decide to do 1000 push-ups in a day is when we already had 880 under our belts. The pull-ups came to a total of 250.
This week was week 24 since we started the program. Taylor is one of the last left from the original group and this was his last workout before boot camp. His strength has increased considerably since we started. He can do over 20 pull-ups, more than 100 crunches in 2 minutes and can run his mile and a half in around 10 minutes. Today's workout was a good confidence boost. I expect he will do well at Parris Island. Good luck Taylor!
For the first time in a long time I'm not feeling my age. In the 24 weeks since we started the program I haven't missed a single workout. Having a group to work out with that has shared fitness goals has been critical to my consistency. Not only is there strength in numbers, there is strength from numbers. Thanks guys!
