Capt Brockett

Space Corps Company Commander

Not sure what the company is called, but here is the CO, Capt Brockett.

He comes from a really inhospitable planet and can withstand most environments that his troops need protective suits for. He is the epitome of what a good officer is. He has a knack for maintaining his military bearing even in chaotic situations and always seems to know what the right thing to do is. His troops would run through a brick wall for him.

In the story, I think his planet will be the only one that fended off the invading aliens. Sadly, the planet he is from takes an isolationist attitude and Capt Brockett goes against the grain by joining the cause. He is one of only a few from his planet who serve in Space Corps. Like his appearance, his rocky surface will barely contain a rage that seethes underneath against the enemy.

The design of Capt Brockett is based off of a design I did for 1st Battalion 3rd Marines a while back. They call themselves the Lava Dogs. Joey, one of the writers helping me with this wanted a rock alien and I wanted a bulldog alien, so it fit pretty well:

I've been working on a short story for Space Corps. Here is the first draft. I feel like I'm getting to know the characters a little bit.

Here is a picture I did for a concept Paul Allor is cooking up. Not sure what the main character will look like when it's all said and done, but here is one of my first attempts to get my mind around it.

Another rough from today. I wanted to design some female characters and thought I would make the first one a sergeant. With the roughs, I'm just trying to get a feel for the characters and style of the art I want to do. It's coming along.

We've already got an idea of what the flow of the first three issues of Space Corps is going to be. I roughed up covers for the first three issues. I won't do anything polished until I have a good feel for the characters, but I can already tell that this is going to be a fun universe to play in.
